Facelab Practitioner comments on ABC News Article “My Face became Infected Again and Again”

Dr Hillel New of Facelab Armadale says he was not surprised to read about nasty face infections in patients being treated in ‘Beauty Clinics’ and some medical practices.

“As dentists, we are fastidiously trained in strict adherence to infection control guidelines and we have sterilization protocols unlike some medical practices and more importantly ‘Beauty Clinics,’ who do not carry out invasive procedures requiring sterilization as a routine”. Dr New goes on further, “I have just returned from a Dermatology Conference in Barcelona,  ’5CC’ where the very latest dermatological techniques were show cased and we attended an important session on complication”.

“Infections occurring in people who have cosmetics procedures are extremely rare when performed by clinicians who understand sterilisation and implement it within their practices everyday”, says Dr New.

Facelab is a Melbourne Business launched recently by dentists, Dr Hillel New and Dr Alex Fibishenko providing Facial Rejuvenation and Skin Treatments. A range of treatment modalities are used including ‘Anti-wrinkle’ injections, dermal fillers, lasers, radiofrequency devices etc. to help turn back the ‘aging face clock’ as Dr new puts it and more importantly these procedures are carried out in a clinically sterile environment as though you were having a dental procedure.

“We already have all the necessary sterilization equipment and protocols in place and on site. With our training who else is better to perform these Face Rejuvenation procedures. As dentists, we know the Face better than anyone else; the muscle groups, the changes that occur in the mouth and jaws that effect ones face shape as well as facial and smile proportions. To get optimal facial enhancement results you need to consider it all and who wants to end up with a nasty infection anyway”.
